Summer Freedom

Common Questions
When do the summer dog bans start?
Most council-run beaches in Kent operate restrictions from 1st May to 30th September. During this time, dogs are usually banned from the main sections between 10am and 6pm.
Which beaches are dog-friendly all year round?
Whitstable West Beach, Dumpton Gap (Broadstairs), Samphire Hoe (Dover), and The Warren (Folkestone) are great year-round options with no seasonal bans.
Are dogs allowed on Blue Flag beaches?
Generally, dogs are not allowed on the Blue Flag zones during the bathing season (summer). However, there is almost always a dog-friendly zone adjacent to the main beach.
